London well beaten by Racers

AW London's disappointing bad run
of results continued as they were beaten by two goals in each half
by Kingsdown Racers.
London started off the game with
a very defensive formation in a bid to stop an early goal.
Kingsdown put pressure on London from the word go and instead of
being able to supplement their offensive moves with
defensive players joining in higher up the field, they just didn't
get the chance. As soon as the ball got into the Racers half
London's strikers Young and Rolfe just had no chance of keeping
possession and the ball was back in London's half.
London changed to a 4-4-2 in the
2nd half Ridgewell moved into the centre of midfield, leaving
Croissant and Hill at centre half. Payne and Lucas moved
wide. The move had an immediate impact and London looked
comfortable going forward. Ridgewell and Payne both came close with
headers and Young was agonisingly close to getting on the end of
Rolfe's excellent cross goal pass.
Despite conceding another two
goals in the second half, there were far more positives in the
play. London must use this as a base performance and aim to raise
it more and more each week if they are to stay in division
one.
Tony Rolfe was named man of the
match following a hard working performance.
